Photos from the rehearsal dinner. The Chen family hosted a delicious Chinese dinner at Legend Seafood Restaurant in the Waikiki Trade Center. Highlights of the evening included lots of yummy food, big bottles of wine, a birthday cake for Mr. Lai (father of the matron of honor, who traveled all the way from Singapore for the wedding), and the laughter of friends and family coming together to kick off the official festivities.

Photos from the picnic dinner. On the Friday night before the wedding, Cari's Aunties and Uncles hosted a wonderful picnic for the many guests who traveled from Singapore, Japan, China, and all over the US to attend the celebration. Highlights included a birthday cake for our flower girl, Madeleine Chen (she turned 3 that night), some "special gifts" from the hosts for Cari & Erik to enjoy after their wedding, great food, good music, and night swimming in the pool.

Pictures from our wedding day, including pictures of the Bridal Party prior to the ceremony. The ceremony was at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Honolulu, HI. Highlights included a performance of "The Road that Never Ends" by friends of Cari & Erik, an exchange of leis for the family, and short blessings read by Cari's cousins. The bridal party and guests departed via Waikiki Trolley, winding their way through Ala Moana Beach Park on the way to the reception.

Photos from the wedding reception. The wedding reception took place at the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel. Highlights included Hawaiian music at the poolside cocktail hour, a lion dance, beautiful flowers, tons of food, speeches by the Best Man, Matron and Maid of Honor, and a close friend of Cari & Erik, as well as great music throughout the night (including jazz piano, local entertainer Danny Kaleikini's performance of "The Hawaiian Wedding Song", a repeat performance of "The Road that Never Ends" by a group of Cari & Erik's friends, Cari's cousin's performance of "Moon River," and the dance music of Nueve Vida).

Highlights from the ceremony included the adventures of our forlorn flower girl, the beautiful singing of Malia Ka`ai, a special arrangement and performance of "Road that Never Ends" by our friends (Steve Chinnavaso, Mike Chinnavaso, Pat Chinnavaso, Cesily Hong, and Darin Leong), presentation of leis to our families, and of course, the vows and kiss!

The end of the ceremony meant some time to make everything official (Cari will always be a Pang, but is also now a Chen!), and a great opportunity to have fun and relax with our guests on the way to the reception.

Thanks to our wedding coordinator and florist, Gary Dung, we were treated to a beautiful reception filled with green and white cymbidium orchids. Thanks also to Aunty Marge for making such a beautiful and delicious cake for us to enjoy. Highlights included toasts from the Wedding Party, a repeat performance of "The Road that Never Ends," a surprise performance of "Moon River" - a gift from the aunties in the Joy Luck Club, the garter and bouquet toss, and our chance to take the dance floor with "'s Wonderful" by George Gershwin - thanks to Mike and Amanda Chinnavaso for helping us to prepare for our dance!
